Lobos Vs Stallions
October 29th,2005 | Longview at North Mesquite

After holding calls were missed all night long, Lobo fans grew mad at the refs as the Lobos picked a North Mesquite pass off in the endzone only to have the refs say he fumbled the ball on the five yard line. The Stallions would need three plays to punch the ball in for a 21-14 score.

6-0. For the second year in a row, the Lobos started our district play with a perfect 2-0 record and a perfect 6-0 overall record. The Lobos vs the Skeeters? Someone forgot to tell Mesquite that a game was going on cause the Lobos took just less than 4 minutes to run to their first touchdown. Little did they know it would be the only one they would need in their 48-0 blow out over the Mesquite Skeeters had a semi-full EH Hanby Stadium crowd. The Lobos ran hard all night long running up over 400 total yards of offense while holding the Skeeters to only less than 100 yards on the night and only 18 passing yards all night long. The Mesquite Skeeters and their fans came prepared and in a 14-7 Mesquite lead at the half, Skeeter fans were feeeling good about themselves but a Lobo touchdown to tie the game up early in the 3rd, brought the Lobo fans to life. Longview thought they had won the game when the kicker nailed a 42 yard field goal to put the Lobos up 17-14 with :55 seconds to go in the game. Mesquite ran back fast and put the game winning touchdown in with 16 seconds left to win the ball game 21-17. The 17 points were the first the Skeeters of Mesquite had given up all season long. The loss gives Longview it's first loss of the 2005 season.

Lobos Vs Wildcats
September 9th,2005 | Longview vs Lake Highlands
It didnt take long for the Lobos to show they wanted this game to be over quick. On the first play from scrimmage, the Longview Lobos picked off a Lake Highlands pass to march down the field and land at the 30. The Lobo defense held up all night long as Lake Highlands couldnt get anything moving. The Lobos took advantage of it as the Lobos rolled down the field to make it 14-0 Longview. Lobo fans held their hands for a few minutes as Vondrell McGee went down in the first quarter with shoulder problems but it didnt take long for the Vondrell to get back in and score another touchdown for the Lobos to put them up 24-0. Another moment Lobo fans held their hands on was when Chris Ivory land in a weird angle on his neck but was able to get back up own feet. The Lobos had 1 seconds to make another chance before half time but it didnt look likely as 3 Wildcat players tried to intercept the ball but it deflected and a Lobo caught it and ran it down for a 70 plus yard touchdown to put the Lobos up 31-0 at the half. Longview laid back in the 2nd half after adding a touchdown to start the 2nd half to put them up 38-0. The Lobo defense held strong until late in the 2nd half when the Wildcats returned a kick off to the Lobo 30 yard line and then punched it in from the 1 yard line on 3rd down. The Wildcats added another score with 30 seconds left in the game. Longview will now head home for their first home game of the season againist Evangel who lost to Texas High last night 45-10.

The Longview Lobos were set to take on #1 in 5A West Monroe and the Springdale Bulldogs were to take on #1 in 1A Evangel. Both teams were blown out at Independent Stadium. Your Lobos took control early running down the field to make it 7-0 in the 1st quarter. In a ref officiated game, Lobo fans grew angrier by the second as countless penalties began to be called againist the Lobos. But the Lobos wouldnt be held as two more touchdown put the Lobos in the driver seats and pulled off the great victory 21-0. The shut out was the first since Ruston in 2002.

Longview vs Marshall
August 26th,2005 | And the 2005 season is underway. The Longview Lobos ran wild on the Marshall Mavericks tonight infront of a sold out Maverick Stadium. Longview started out early with a Chris Ivory touchdown midway through the 1st. To start the second, the Lobos ran another one in by Vondrell McGee to push their lead to 14-0. But the shut out didnt last long, as the next play the Marshall Mavericks threw a 60+ pass play for the touchdown. Longview stormed right back, as Ivory turned a 4th and 1 play into a 30+ yard touchdown.
After that, Chris Ivory went out and was out for the rest of the game due to the heat.
The 2nd half opened good for the Lobos, as on their first series, Vondrell McGee pushed in a touchdown from the 7 yard line to make the score 28-10.
The 3rd and 4th quarters were quite sloppy on both sides of the ball for both teams until Marshall pushed one in on 3rd and Goal from the 1 after being stuffed 6 straight plays by the Lobo D. The two point conversation was no good.
The Lobos will now head to Shreveport, to take on the West Monroe Rebels.

Lobos roll to 14-3 Scrimmage Victory
August 20th,2005 | Today at Lobo Stadium, close to 1,000 or so fans saw the Lobos beat Lufkin in a controlled scrimmage. But a fast drive lead the Lobos to what ultimately won them the scrimmage. While a scrimmage doesnt mean anything, it did show Lobo fans what will be hold in the near future.
