LOBOS WIN IN RICHARDSON
RICHARDSON - Coming into the game ranked #4 in the Associated Press' state poll, Longview continued its undefeated season slipping past a talented Lake Highlands ballclub, 24-14.  The Lobos' first play from scrimmage was a pass from QB Quincy Grant to WR Rogers Taylor down the right side of the field for a 53-yard touchdown pass.  That pass was one of the highlights amongst many Longview mistakes.  On a slippery field, the Lobos fumbled the ball five times, giving the ball up twice.

On defense, Frank Brocatto stepped it up making several key tackles, and Keaton Daniels picked off his first pass of the season.  Offensively, Griffin Day and the rest of the O-line faced LH's all-American Frank Okem and held him in check all night.

Grant looked strong again, and completed his third consecutive 100 yard passing game, though he threw his first two interceptions of the season.  On the highlight real was Jerrell Williams' 92 yard kickoff return at the beginning of the second half down to the Wildcats' two yard line.  Chris Jones punched it in from the two yard line, making the score 21-7.  The fourth quarter got interesting with a pass intercepted by LH's defensive back Steven Coleman.  He picked the pass and ran 84 yards, to make the score 21-14.

On the kickoff, Longview was called for a personal foul because a player ran over a referee.  The penalty gave LH the ball to kick from the Lobos' 45-yard line.  LH kicked an onside kick which bounced off a Lobo player as both teams dived for the ball.  The Lobos recovered the ball and drove down the field with kicker Ryan Howard booting a game-sealing 25-yard field goal with three minutes left in regulation.
