LOBOES TROUNCE MINEOLA
LONGVIEW - Rolling up 78 points for the second time in two weeks and scoring almost at will in three quarters of play, the Gold and Black warriors of Longview high Friday advanced another notch closer to the district championship by trouncing the light Mineola eleven 78 to 2 at Fair Park.

Despite the fact that the Mineola team was the lighest aggregation to face the Loboes, they have the credit of being the only team to score on the local gridiron whose goal is yet uncrossed in seven battles, and whose scoring mark reached a total of 287 points.

Mineola made but one first down which came as a result of a punt which went skyward, bounced on the head of a local player and was scooped up by a visiting player. The Mineola backfield at no time was able to penetrate the brick wall of the line and on many occasions were thrown for big losses. Fumbles on both sides were numerous and several times cost considerable yardage.

The Loboes opened with a bang and within two minutes after the whistle, McCeary had crossed the line with the first touchdown.

Three touchdowns were made in rapid succession after which all scoring ceased, except for the safety when Adams was caught behind the line of his own goal, until the third period opened. From then on, touchdown after touchdown was made with long passes and end runs featuring the style of play.

It was their fourth conference victory.
