STATE CHAMPIONS!
DALLAS - or the fourth time in 14 games, the mighty Longview Lobos Saturday staged a great second half rally to overcome a one touchdown deficit and their performance won for them the highest honor in high school football. The championship of Texas.

The Wichita Falls Coyotes were their victims and the score 19-12. Eighteen thousand fans were on hand for the game, played under overcast skies but on a fast field.

The Lobos finishing the season the only undefeated and untied football team in the State, turned in two long runs with Dandy Dick Miller carrying the gate, to take the lead in the third period and finished with a third in the fading moments of play as all great champions do, going away.

Longview's great finish was made possible by the fool-proof blocking of every man on the club. It got Dandy Dick in the clear twice, and when Dick gets in the open school's out.

Wichita Falls took the lead early in the ball game and followed it up with another a few minutes later to widen the gap.

A bad pas from center put the Wolves in a hole. Hardy Miller recovering for a 5-yard loss on the Lobo five. Odell Damrall, the Coyotes' great center, then broke through to black Hardy's punt and fielding brand. Wichita guard, covered it six inches over the goal for a touchdown. J.H Sullivan, Lobo tackle, blocked Bill Loghan's attempt to convert and the Coyotes were out infront by 6.
